If you are on the fence about whether to buy FIFA 15 because of cheaters, EA has some good news for you. Cheaters of course are already chatting about how they can dupe the system with FIFA 15 Coins using bots and coin trading. Sadly this sort of thing happens every year, and every year EA has to take new steps to prevent it. But this year, EA is going to be more aggressive than ever. The developer is already discussing cheating and what they are going to do to stop it, and they’re talking about permanent banning.
“Although they are a minority amongst ‘FIFA’ fans, cheaters disrupt the gameplay experience and enjoyment for honest ‘FIFA’ fans in a number of ways,” EA said in a statement. “These include things like overloading servers, phishing and compromising other player accounts, and participating in the unauthorized exchange of virtual currency. It’s time for us to draw a clear and strong line against cheaters who negatively impact the ‘FIFA’ experience for our millions of players online.”
EA went in-depth into common cheat tactics to warn offending players that they are onto them this year. One common tactic is the use of bots to purchase items from the Transfer Market automatically. Illicit coins are also sold online via other venues. “The use of bots and third-party bot services to automatically buy Transfer Market items in order to gain an unfair advantage is a form of cheating. Gamers detected using bots, third-party bot services, or scripts for any purpose will be subject to our ban process.”
And what about coin buying and selling? Since that takes place through third-party sites, it is trickier to monitor and prevent. Nonetheless, EA stated, “Moving forward, we will be more proactive in taking action, including banning accounts, against players engaged in coin buying, coin selling, coin promoting, and the use of bots.”
EA will be imposing bans against players for other infractions as well, including stat boosting of in-game avatars through the pro clubs mode. Additionally, the developer will be going over the leaderboards biweekly to remove cheaters so that accurate match results alone are reflected there. FIFA 15 will be released on September 23rd in North America and will hit shelves in the European market on September 25th. The game will be available on PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 260 and Xbox One, Wii, iOS, Android, PSVita, Nintendo 3DS, and FIFA 15 Coins PC.
